Why do you call it the Shinbone Star? -- CLICK HERE Ralston calls itself "Independence City," but it has no independent newspaper of its own. The local weekly RAG is but a totally owned pimping little sister of the establishment monopoly newspaper of Imperial Omaha. Going to town council meetings to voice their views, our neighbors have been talked down to and long complained that there has to be another, less frustrating, way to get their views aired and respected. Now there is. Please send your comments, letters to the editor, news items, obituaries, family notes, local announcements, etc. Even literary contributions such as the poem we just featured! We won't use your name if you request otherwise, or we can substitute a pen name -- as long as your comments are not libelous or otherwise illegal.
